Hello.Hi.
I’m Dinesh Desikan.
A nosey UX Designer
I design digital experiences that merge business goals with real customer needs — ensuring accessible design is not an after thought. With experience across public sector (GDS) and agency teams, I work end-to-end, diving deep in the research phases, to shape services that enable users to get the job done.
Whether that is 0-1 project or developing existing products/services, I have the experience to analyse the situation and determine the best way forward
Problems I’ve solved
Real projects, real challenges — and how I worked through them. These case studies highlight how I navigated constraints, collaborated across teams, and delivered outcomes that made a difference.
O→1 Digital registers design
Translated complex legislative requirements across two registers, into simple, GDS forms, that reduced errors and made internal sign-off smooth.
Customer account portal redesign
Uncovered why online services were underused and designed a clearer, more intuitive interface using the existing design system. Led discovery to developer hand-off, with a lot of stakeholder management.
O→1 CRM design
Replaced a messy spreadsheet system with a custom CRM to onboard & manage research participants — from first discovery to final handoff.

Key Skills
Every project has grown my experience and honed the key skills I use to tackle a project.
Check out my short insights into how I’ve used some of them on the challenges I have faced
Navigate a cross-functional team
Aligned a team with competing priorities through shared goals and open dialogue. Used regular research playbacks to keep stakeholders engaged and the project moving.
Manage challenging stakeholders
Used empathy, data and open dialogue to build trust and shift stakeholder requirements. Delivered a user-centred solution shaped by real needs, not assumptions.
Advocate for user research
Connected UCD to business value by linking it to stakeholder frustrations and involving them in lean research sessions. Sparked a shift toward insight-led decisions.
Facilitate usability research
Created a safe space that encouraged honest feedback. Adapted sessions in real-time to surface meaningful insights that directly informed design improvements.
Ensure designs are accessible
Collaborated with developers and tested with neurodiverse users, using their insight to iterate toward a WCAG-compliant, accessible experience.
Adapt to project or team state
Flexed design and communication styles to keep momentum through shifting priorities and team changes.
Are you really a UX-er if you don’t have a picture of post-its on your portfolio?
